Local Chapter Events
Luncheons & Dinners
The Chapter cordially invites you to join us for our luncheon meetings which are generally held on the third Thursday of each month (with the exception of February, June and November), and are held at the UNM Continuing Education Center. We know you will enjoy socializing with colleagues and our guest speaker presentation while enjoying a delicious hot catered lunch. There is plenty of free parking available.
Please note there will be no luncheon in November due to the State Issues Conference which will be held on Friday, November 13, 2026. Our objective, as always, is to provide you with interesting and timely speakers and topics, delicious food and PDH credit, while providing an excellent networking opportunity.
We are currently scheduling our luncheons for 2027 and will keep you posted. Please plan on joining us in the New Year.

National PE Day – August 5, 2026
Bowling and Beers with Engineers
Celebrating 2026 National PE Day at Skidmore’s Holiday Bowl! Thank you to everyone who joined us (even if you didn’t bowl !) and we hope you will plan on celebrating National PE Day, August 4, 2027 with Beers with Engineers! If you missed it last year, we hope you will join in Celebrating Licensure and the Profession with PEs Around the World on the twelfth annual Professional Engineers Day in August 2027 ..
NSPE-NM Events
Our State Issues Conference will be held on Friday, November 13, 2026. This year’s theme is “Ethics, Realities and the Future of AI in Engineering.”
Featured speakers will be: Dr. Christopher ChoGlueck, NM Tech, “Ethical Challenges of AI in Research”, Girija Subramaniam, NSPE and Founding Force, LLC, “TBA”, Perry Valdez, New Mexico Board of Licensing for Professional Engineers & Professional Surveyors (NMBLPEPS), “Engineering Ethics from the Perspective of NMBLPEPS and Board Update”, Logan Moore, Levian Technologies, “AI and Engineering: More Capability, Same Responsibility,” Dr. Alexis Artery, PE, Contrast, Inc, Southwest Region Director on the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) Board of Directors, “TBA”, Nathan Walker, Voda AI, “TBA”, Dr. Liang Zhang, University of Arizona, “Trustworthy AI for Architecture, Engineering and Construction Industries: From Innovation to Responsible Practice”.
We want to thank all of you joined us at our EWeek Conference held in February. The 2026 Project of the Year, Young Engineer of the Year, Engineer of the Year, and Engineer In Training award winners were honored along with our Outstanding Student Winners from UNM, NMSU and NM Tech.
