EWeek 2024 was hosted by NMSPE State

Our 2023 EWeek Conference was held on Friday, February 24, 2023

Our 2023 EWeek Conference was held both in person and virtually with the theme “Creating the Future.”  We had a great turnout and want to thank everyone who participated.  We had some great speakers and topics, beginning with Dr. Jason Harper, Sandia National Laboratories Research Scientist and New Mexico State Representative, who spoke on “How Engineers Can Create the Future Through Legislation.” He was followed by Dr. Donghyeon Ryu, PE, who spoke on “Multifunctioning Materials for Self Powered & Multi-modal Sensing and Mechanical-Radiant-Electrical Energy Harvesting”, Victor Wowk, PE, who spoke on “Acoustics – Past, Present and Future”, Dr. Wish Krishnamoorthy, who spoke on “Hydrogen as a Viable Resource”, our Keynote Speaker, Mr. Pat O’Connell, PE, of the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission, who spoke on “Engineering the Energy Transition,”  and Dr. Charles Fleddermann, who spoke on “Case Studies in Engineering Ethics.”

KOAT-TV Meteorologist Byron Morton acted as Master of Ceremonies presented awards to Outstanding Engineering Students from UNM, NMSU and NM Tech during lunch and announced the winners of our 2023 Project of the Year, 2023 Outstanding Engineer of the Year, and 2023 Outstanding Young Engineer of the Year.
